This summer has sure turned out to be a lot busier than I thought it would be. This past weekend my family and I headed to the Okanagan, now if you don’t know where that is you’d do best to google it. I’m rather geographically challenged, yet great with directions. I’m an odd soul. To start off our stay we checked into the cutest little B&B the Harvelle House, you can check out my post about it here.
Now that you’re caught up on reading my Harvelle House post, let us pop on into this post shall we? After breakfast at Harvelle House we headed over to my grandmas care home to visit, after all she was the guest of honor and the whole reason we went to the Okanagan in the first place.
This past weekend I hopped in the car with my family and headed to the Okanagan. The Okanagan is one of my favourite places in the world, some of my best childhood memories take place there. My parents try to go once a month to visit my grandma. I on the other hand have not been there in over four years. Worst. Grandchild. Ever.
I am however not the only one who loves the Okanagan. Trying to book a place to stay was next to impossible! That’s when we stumbled across the perfect little B&B Harvelle House. Nestled behind (or in front, depending how you look at it) of Giant’s Head in Summerland is where you’ll find this whimsical house.
Today I thought I’d share part 1 of my ocean room decor DIY’s for all you summer loving people out there. If you love the ocean, you know there is nothing like sitting on the sand hearing the waves crash against the shore as you dig your toes into the sand and let it fall through your fingers. The ocean brings a calmness so why not add a little serenity and calmness to your room for that fresh summer feeling.
The first DIY is a cute little banner that you can hang over your bed, on your wall or over your desk.
Today I thought I’d give you an insight into one of my favourite places ever, Fort Langley. The Hudson’s Bay company originally built Fort Langley in 1827. So as you can imagine this town has seen lots of history, and it’s still going strong. Most of the buildings have been restored and it’s quaintness can be found on your TV screens most commonly in Once Upon A Time or most Hallmark movies.
The biggest draw for me to this town is the cute cafe Wendel’s, it’s on a corner across from the train tracks. It has an exquisite menu for both food and drinks. My drink is a Chai tea latte with almond milk. Wendel’s is super friendly to those with allergies, all you gluten-free people rejoice. The best part is there is a book store to browse before or after your meal, or while you’re waiting for your drink. Check out my recent visit below!
Recently I bought my first succulent. I usually refrain from plants as I usually end up killing them. In my defense it’s usually from over watering, so it’s really death by too much love. By now you’re probably wondering how many time’s I can use usually in the first paragraph, right? But I’ve learned my lesson and will no longer over water any present or future plants.
I decided my little succulent, needed two things. First thing she needed a name, and secondly she needed a home. So first things first, I formally introduce to the internet Suzie-Lou Succulent, adopted on June 3, 2016. Now since I am taking plant parent hood very seriously I knew my Suzie-Lou needed to have one of the chicest digs a succulent can have. Therefore I did the easiest DIY around, and now her house makes her pop and is tumblr perfect.
Here’s what you’ll need to DIY the perfect little home for your succulent children.
Can you believe its freaking July?! I’m sorry, am I the only one freaking out? Seriously where has the time gone! I’m going to blink and it will be Christmas, though that wouldn’t really be an issue considering I love Christmas.
If you don’t know me my name is Natalie Farrow and I am an actor, producer, writer, event planner, amateur photographer, social media/branding marketer. Let’s just say I’m a woman of many hats and my day planner is colour coded down to priority A, B, and C. I started blogging off my acting website to get a feel for it, but what I was blogging about wasn’t exactly acting related. So I thought I would start a blog that is about everything else in my life, with just a hint of acting, because let’s be real I can’t not talk about it.
The first post on my blog is a monthly favourites, lot’s of YouTubers do this, so I thought I’d snag that idea and use it here. I think it’s a great way to introduce myself so we can get to know each other a little more. The list is long so I’m just going to jump right into it. Continue reading →
