With each passing month I’m blown away by how fast this year is going by. I mean it’s already August. In four months I’ll be 23, and that’s just an insane concept. This week I’m back with my monthly favourites. These are just a few items that I’ve noticed myself using lots, or I’m just flat-out in love with. Let’s jump right in shall we?
Ah summer, the month of camping, fires (I’m talking about the good kind), smores, beach days, tan skin (or burnt if you’re a ginger like me. The struggle is real) and friends laughing all together. There isn’t really anything like being amongst a great group of friends no matter if you’re camping or not. Last weekend the creative crew and I tried to go camping at Golden Ears, and pretty much anywhere else we could find a spot. The issue was everything was full, so that resulted in us camping in a friends backyard. Even though it wasn’t the great out doors we still had a ball. Backyard camping is still in ya’ll!
To start the weekend we gathered at my friends house and then set out to the beach to kill time till the rest of the crew came.
There is nothing I love more than walking down memory lane, as long as it’s the good lane. The other weekend my family and I headed to Summerland, BC to visit family. We only stayed the one night so we jammed a lot in. The day we planned to leave we hit up some classics and some new places. If you haven’t yet check out my Okanagan Adventure Part 1 to see our trip to Naramata and Poplar Grove.
Alright, let’s pick up where we left off. After leaving the winery, we headed to my aunt’s place and from there we headed into the heart of down town Summerland and took a stroll through the summer market.
This summer has sure turned out to be a lot busier than I thought it would be. This past weekend my family and I headed to the Okanagan, now if you don’t know where that is you’d do best to google it. I’m rather geographically challenged, yet great with directions. I’m an odd soul. To start off our stay we checked into the cutest little B&B the Harvelle House, you can check out my post about it here.
Now that you’re caught up on reading my Harvelle House post, let us pop on into this post shall we? After breakfast at Harvelle House we headed over to my grandmas care home to visit, after all she was the guest of honor and the whole reason we went to the Okanagan in the first place.
Today I thought I’d give you an insight into one of my favourite places ever, Fort Langley. The Hudson’s Bay company originally built Fort Langley in 1827. So as you can imagine this town has seen lots of history, and it’s still going strong. Most of the buildings have been restored and it’s quaintness can be found on your TV screens most commonly in Once Upon A Time or most Hallmark movies.
The biggest draw for me to this town is the cute cafe Wendel’s, it’s on a corner across from the train tracks. It has an exquisite menu for both food and drinks. My drink is a Chai tea latte with almond milk. Wendel’s is super friendly to those with allergies, all you gluten-free people rejoice. The best part is there is a book store to browse before or after your meal, or while you’re waiting for your drink. Check out my recent visit below!
Can you believe its freaking July?! I’m sorry, am I the only one freaking out? Seriously where has the time gone! I’m going to blink and it will be Christmas, though that wouldn’t really be an issue considering I love Christmas.
If you don’t know me my name is Natalie Farrow and I am an actor, producer, writer, event planner, amateur photographer, social media/branding marketer. Let’s just say I’m a woman of many hats and my day planner is colour coded down to priority A, B, and C. I started blogging off my acting website to get a feel for it, but what I was blogging about wasn’t exactly acting related. So I thought I would start a blog that is about everything else in my life, with just a hint of acting, because let’s be real I can’t not talk about it.
The first post on my blog is a monthly favourites, lot’s of YouTubers do this, so I thought I’d snag that idea and use it here. I think it’s a great way to introduce myself so we can get to know each other a little more. The list is long so I’m just going to jump right into it. Continue reading →
